Nanowrimo 2012

Is anyone out there doing Nanowrimo?

In case you haven't heard of it, Nanowrimo is an online and in-home event, where you try to write an entire novel, or at least 50,000 words of it, in the month of November. The website can be found HERE.

I've participated the last three years, but I've only been successful one time, completing the challenge of 50,000 words in 30 days. Not only is the event awesome for writers, but there's a great writing community out there that band together and write.

I'd like to challenge all of you, including myself, to try this event and take it seriously this year. A lot of good can come from this, whether it be a complete novel, writing buddies, or great writing habits.

Chuck Wendig, novelist and screenwriter, has compiled an awesome to-do list if you're interesting in participating, if you're so inclined. You can find that HERE.

Alas, add me on Nanowrimo if you are participating. My username is Carniehands. Yep. That's right. Carniehands.

Take this time to start thinking about what you want to write, who your protagonist is, and look up local writing ground in your area. You can do this. I can do this. We can do this.

  1. I am almost positive I'm finally going to commit to this. I've always wanted to try it, but never have. So, I'm thinking this is the year!! Deep breath.

Is there some kind of linky list or something that I should sign up on?

Also, I found your blog through the Ghostly Blog Hop, but I can't find your entry. Did you end up not entering?

Going by your favorite books on the side, we have really similar taste. :) I'm a new follower btw. Nice to meet you!

P.S. Are you aware you have word-verification on? You might get more comments if you take it off. I just figured I'd let you know in case you didn't realize. :)

    1. Hi Tamara!
Thanks for stopping by. There isn't a linky list that I know of for Nanowrimo. You can definitely add me though and we can keep each other pumped up! :P I would definitely try it. It's okay if you don't finish but the point is to try your darndest!

I did enter the Ghostly Blog Hop but realized that my entry was a little too long for flash fiction. :/ So I took it down. Do you think I should put it back up? I wasn't sure.

It does seem like we do have similar tastes! I'm a new follower of your blog too! Thanks for following me. It's nice to meet new people. The YA writing community is just awesome! How cool is it that you have two novels written already! That is just great!!

PS Thanks so much for letting me know that I had word verification on. I didn't even know that was there! I think I took it off. Thanks again for letting me know!!

So if you're going to do nanowrimo, what will you write on?
